Join us as a Volunteer!

Volunteers play a vital role in the success of the Steam Railroading Institute by dedicating time and an incredible amount of energy to preserve and operate steam-era locomotives and equipment. We are pleased to invite you to join our volunteer program to share your talents to further actualize our heritage of steam railroading. In addition to finding community, friendship, and learning the skills that built our nation, our volunteer incentive program enables us to offer complementary tickets to ride our excursions.
Since our grassroots beginning in 1969, we have maintained a remarkable crew of volunteers, and we would not be where we are today without them. With the exception of a few staff members, everyone else that you will see operating trains and working at SRI are volunteers.

To join, please complete and submit the form below. You may also print and mail/drop off the form to us: 405 South Washington, Owosso, MI 48867, or email it to us: info@michigansteamtrain.com
